Default Student visa to 187 visa what steps?

Hi, I currently hold a student visa and I am considering to look for sponsorshipi regional Australia, particularly Perth city.
I did some research on the visa and what i should apply for and what i understood is, in order:

1)find somebody willing to sponsor you
2)Employer lodge nomination for me(by the way, how much does it cost for the employer?)
3)As soon as the nomination get approved I lodge my 187 visa under direct entry stream
4)Wait for the visa to be granted and once granted I start to work for the employer

Is it correct?

Do I need the skills assessment for my profession in this case?

Thanks in advance

1) yes
2) yes, no application fee for DIBP, but RCB may charge a fee
3) you can lodge as soon as the nomination has been lodged or you can wait
4) yes

Under Direct Entry you usually need a skills assesment

Thank you Nick, I really appreciate it.
In my particular case, I hold a student visa at the moment and I will be looking for an employer willing to nominate me.
My visa expire october 2016, am I correct if I said that the stream correct for me is the direct entry?

I am also wondering if I will be not ready to lodge the 187 visa before my current student expire, can I apply for a bridging visa or I should apply for a tourist visa and than for 187?

Nick do you offer migration services for Western Australia as well?

Yes, it's the Direct Entry stream . You cannot apply for a bridging visa by itself under these circumstances. I provide immigration services all over Australia and all over the workd. I have many clients in WA.

Great to know that. Once I will find an employer i might need an immigration agent to lodge it safely. Thanks.
So i assume you have connection also for Canadian permanent residency program?

I only do Australian immigration and I am not an employment agency.

I understand, thank you and keep in touch.

I have a last question:

'Do I need a skills assessment if I apply on direct entry stream as a cook/chef"?

Thanks

Luca

Luca

At the time of application:

(a) the applicant was a person in a class of persons specified by the Minister in an instrument in writing for this paragraph; or

(b) all of the following requirements were met:
(i) the applicant’s occupation is specified by the Minister in an instrument in writing for this subparagraph;
(ii) the applicant did not obtain the necessary qualification in Australia;
(iii) the applicant’s skills had been assessed as suitable for the occupation by an assessing authority specified by the Minister in the instrument for subparagraph (i) as the assessing authority for the occupation;
(iv) the assessment was not for a Subclass 485 (Temporary Graduate) visa;
(v) if the assessment specified a period during which the assessment was valid, and the period did not end more than 3 years after the date of the assessment — the period had not ended;
(vi) if subparagraph (v) did not apply — not more than 3 years had passed since the date of the assessment; or

(c) if neither paragraph (a) nor (b) applies, the applicant had the qualifications listed in ANZSCO as being necessary to perform the tasks of the occupation.
