Abt student dependent visa applied within australia
Hi,
I am writing to you as I am not entirely sure whether or not I did the right
thing when applying for an extension of my student visa.
First, I have just finished my course on december,
and my visa is expiring on march 15th, 2011.
My partner and I got married in July 2010
and she has still 1 more year to go before she finishes her bachelor degree (none of us is australian), so
her visa expries on march 2012. I am bit concerned because:
a few weeks ago, we went to DIAC and explained the situation to them. At the end
of it, they gave me the form 157A, but just today, I am wondering if they
shouldn`t have given to my partner the form 919 for her to nominate me (I don`t
know if this is necessary because we met here in australia and she did obviously
did not nominate me in her original visa application).
I have sent to DIAC my application a few days ago inclusing my bank statements,
the bank statements of my parents as they are sponsoring me during my studies
here, ID photos, OSHC insurance and a guarantor letter signed by my father and
that was it. I was wondering by the way if the HSA appointment was needed or
should DIAC advise me to take it?
Would you also advise me to tell y father to forward by mail or fax his bank statement? and should I apply for a bridging visa in case things get complicated?
Thanks in advance for any advices,
Thanks again for your attention,
KInd regards,
Taoro
