Default Married First Cousin

I know a young Chinese Lady who lied on her partner visa application saying that she met her partner at a train station in Melbourne's East, when in fact the partner is her first cousin and obviously have known each other since birth. Is this a serious issue.

Providing incorrect information is always a serious issue, which can result in visa refusals/ cancelations as well as other penalties. Why are you concerned about this ?
