Default Occupation assessment for subclass 487

Hope someone can help me out here

I am an international student in South Australia. I learnt from vetassess website that for applying subclass 485, as a graduate, I can go through the first stage assessment, which is Qualifications only skills assessment, which does not require 12 months work experience, cause I am a graduate. But I am currently in my last year of my BA degree in South Australia, and I intend to apply for subclass 487 visa, I wondered would it be the same as applying for 485 for which I only need to go through the first stage of assessment which does not require 12 months work experience, as subclass 487 is the similar temporary visa for new graduate in Australia.

Thank you claire, its a nice post. It is very effective and helpful for me. Actually I am also a graduate and I am from New South Wells. I also applied for the 485 visa.
