Default Passport validity during 186 Application

Hi,

I will lodge my application for the permanent visa subclass 186 - Temporary residence transition stream in a few weeks.

I read on the immigration website that the applicant's passport must be valid for at least 2 years when applying.

My passport will expire in 2 years and 3 months and I'm just not sure if the immigration means 2 years from the time the application is lodged, or the visa granted or something else?

Here, bottom of the page in the "Passport details" section
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...nformation.htm

I noticed it is under "Professionals and other skilled migrants" and not "Employer sponsored workers" so does this even apply to me? (I know 186 application are typically 4-8 weeks so 2 years seems a bit overkill).

Any help appreciated

Thanks
