Electronics Engineer and closely related occupation

Hi,

I am a graduate in B.E( electronics and communication) and worked as software Engineer for 3 years 11 months.
I have been nominated as Electronics Engineer by EA.To claim 5 points through my work experience, I have to provide an document stating that my duties as a Software Engineer was closely related to the roles of electronics Engineer.
My roles as a Software Engineer was:
Work in embedded domain on printer.
Develop code,perform suitable testing on printers,debug issues, Understand existing design, etc.
My question is with the above stating duties, will my actual occupation be considered as a closely related occupation of Electronics Engineer?
If not how to modify the above duties to meet the requirement?

You might be better of having your skills assessed as a Software Engineer by ACS.
