Sponsor new partner

I've been in Australia for a year and 1/2 now. A good friend of mine and I started dating a few months ago and ended up completely hitting it off and fell in love, unfortunately I'm going to be leaving soon. He'd like to sponsor me so we can stay together but won't have a year together. I can't get a 2nd year work visa and he's over 31 so he can't get a working holiday in Canada. Any ideas? Can he sponsor me although we haven't been together long?

The minimum relationship period of 1 year does not apply if the relationship is registered under a State law. Here in NSW you may register the relationship and then lodge the Partner visa application on de-facto ground.

While I'm chatting with you, a girlfriend from work sponsored a guy from the England. They broke up but didn't cancel the sponsorship. They are now dating other people and she's wondering if she can pass off the sponsorship responsibility on his new partner?

A girlfriend from work was dating a guy from England for quite a while. She had sponsored him in Australia but broke up before he'd received his PR. They are now both dating other people and she's wondering if she can pass the responsibility of the sponsorship on his new partner. Can the sponsors name be changed if all 3 are willing to change it?
