Default New GSM changes in October 2009

Hello everyone!

If there are experts here, maybe they know what changes to GSM are going to take effect in October 2009. Especially, what should applicants, who applied more than 2 years ago and not in high priority list like MODL or CSL, wait?

Hi Avlaw,

You may wish to consider asking one of the States to consider sponsoring you under SS sponsorship under one of the 500 discretionary occupations given to each states since last year. The success of you securing a place depends on among other factors your socio-economic background and how persuasive your appeal letter is phrased.

Best of luck

Thanks, Robert, for your feedback, but I wanted to know about NEW CHANGES to GSM regarding Skilled Independent in general NOT for regional subclass. All we need is to know your opinion and projection about new changes not off-topic suggestions.

Hi Avlaw

Thanks for joining this forum.

It is of course evening here in Australia so you are unlikely to receive a response until tomorrow.

Cheers
Sheelagh

avlaw,

Without a crystal ball one could only indulge in rumours and guess work as to what changes in the GSM would come about in the near future. As there is a review of the MODL scheme one could certinly expect some changes but again one would need a crystal ball to know how the MODL will be changed. In a public forum no agent would offer guess work, or advise unless he/she is well insured.

My posting was by way of information for those who are languishing for two three years in the system and who wish to move forward for faster processing through State sponsorship for permanent residence ( not regional or provisional) by using one of the 500 places. Of course some would be quite happy to wait it out longer.
