Default Label Free Travel for Subclass 457 Visa Holders

Subclass 457 visa holders may travel label free to Australia. This is to reduce the requirement for Subclass 457 visa holders to have their visa label placed in their passport prior to travel or on arrival to Australia.

Australia’s modern electronic visa system does not require Subclass 457 visa holders to have a visa label placed in their passport to confirm their immigration status and entitlements in Australia.

Subclass 457 visa holders can electronically check their visa details by using their Transaction Reference Number by accessing the department's service called Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO).

Employers, banks and government services can also check details about the visa holders entitlements on VEVO once they have their consent to do so.

See: Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO)

Please be aware that the governments of some countries may require the visa holder to have a visa label in their passport in order to depart or transit through their country.

Please check with the local authorities to determine if a visa holder requires a label for this purpose.
