Default Best path forward for the Family!

Hi,

I am about to lodge my application for the skilled independent 189 next month (skills assessment / IELTS cleared), will include spouse and 3 kids.
My mother lives with me and is dependent on me (father has passed away, I am the only Son), this makes her a good candidate to include with the application for permanent residence BUT,...issue is that we are concerned about her medical test,...she had a lung disease last year (NOT TB),..she is cured now but the x-ray always shows scars (even old healed ones).

My questions now are:

1) In case she does not clear the medical, will DIAC outright reject the
complete application OR do I have the option to withdraw mom's
application & proceed with my spouse / kids?

2) In case we proceed and mom's app. is withdrawn will this have any
negative consequences once she applies for the tourist visa (sub class
600) later on?

Your expert guidance would be highly appreciated.

Hi there,

Yes, you can still include your mother in the combined application along with your spouse and three-kids. I do not see why not, despite how your mother's lung disease showed up last year. Since she is now cured providing that the medical evidence indicates this, then you should not worry that your visa application will get rejected. So you can surely include her in your visa application.

Thanks.
