New born Child residency status when parents PR is under process

Hi

I would like to collect some info on, where couples will apply for PR in April and they are expecting a baby in October. What will the visa status of the new born, when PR is under processing for parents.

My assumption is, the lady would'nt be able to do X ray screening because of pregnancy. So this is going to extend the visa processing time and the baby will be born in october. I want to know, what visa will the baby comes under. I am currently working in 457 visa.

Hi there,
I just would like to let you know that the baby will carry
the same visa status as that of the parents; therefore, the parents must hold a valid visa that the newborn baby will automatically possess.

If your child is born after you lodge your application (but before it is decided), you must tell DIBP as soon as possible by completing Form 1022: Notification of changes in circumstances (266KB PDF),attach a certified copy of the birth certificate to the form and mail them to the office that is processing your application.

If your child is born in Australia, they are automatically granted the same visa you and your partner hold at the time of the child's birth.
