Hi all,

I have just joined this forum as I was very impressed by the quality of help here.

My wife is Australian and I hold a dual citizenship: UK and Tunisia (High Risk country). We've been together for 10 years and married for 4 years.

I have been living in the UK for the last 12 years with only few weeks every other year spent in Tunisia for holidays.

I have applied for a partner visa from the UK on May 2010. My C/O requested forms 80 and 1221 after I lodged my application. She hasn't requested the medicals and police checks yet.

My question is:
Is my application going to go through the same routine checks as a HR country citizen?

From your experience or working knowledge, how long would i expect to wait for the visa?

Thanks

Spouse visas can take anywhere from 1 week to 9 months or more, depending on how well prepared the application is and if any issues arise during processing. I believe that the AHC in London is faster than most other places, but I am not speaking from personal experience. I have however had several spouse visas finalised in as little as 2 or 3 months in some Asian countries.

It is likely that they will do background checks in your country of birth and this may well delay processing times. Again, I am not speaking from personal experience here.

I understand that you are anxious to get things finalised, but all you can do really is go through the process and wait.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific...
