Hi All,
Under the current skilled migration legislation, would I be still required to sat down an english test or provide proof of english ability? I applied (main applicant) 887 visa online and was given a generated report telling me I need to provide IELTS or proof of english language ability. Based on the 887 checklist, I don't have to provide IELTS as I have already satisfied english requirement via IELTS during my 496 visa. I am confused. Any thoughts or enlightenment would be highly appreciated.
Many thanks!!!

You are correct that you already have satisfied English requirements. Just send them a copy of your original IELTS test. That should solve the issue.

If by being given a generated report you mean it was just an online response rather than forwarded from a CO I'd not be too concerned with it for not everything online is correct.
When a CO is looking at eligibility requirements, it should be a different story.

Thanks Nick for your insights. Will this situation be applied the same for my secondary applicant (wife)? Is her diploma enough as proof of english language ability or will the original IELTS result from our visa 496 will suffice the requirement?
Thanks!!

If she satisfied English requirements for the sc. 496, then she satsifies the requirements for sc. 887.

Hi Alan,
Not sure if you still come onto this forum, but if you do, I would also like to know whether you got the 887 and how long it took. Thanks.

It takes around a month to get this visa if u satisfy the requirements when u file the application. I have got this visa yesterday and it was in one month. I had provided all the documents online and applied online.
