Hello
We applied for the AU visa (175) in July (2009)
We attached the Comfirmation of Employer letter which was given me one year ago for the NZ immigration.
After three months my manager was called here in NZ by the AU Embassy.
The officer asked him to verify this letter. I asked my boss what was his answer.
My boss answered me the following:
"I advised that person that the only "Confirmation of Employer" letter I had provided you with was for the NZ Immigration Service."
What do you think, does it matter?
This situation seemed to me not too helpful.

Thank you for your help

I have forgotten to mention that the letter was addressed "To Whom May It Conern"

What do you think, does it matter? No, it does not. The intention of your boss is irrelevant. The migration officer is interested in the Migration Regulations only. The regulations are asking for a suitable evidence of employment. The reason behind the evidence or the intention of the boss are not taken into account.

As far as I am concerned, a confirmation letter of appointment signred on a genuine company letterhead is a confirmation that the person named in the letter worked for that employer. It cannot be that for one receiver (NZ Immigration) of that letter it means the employee worked for that employer and for anothr receiver (Australian immigration) it means he did not. I would say that your boss was not being very nice when he responded in the manner you mentioned. As for DIAC it is my personal belief that they should ignore the last comment from your boss that the letter was meant for NewZealand Immigration. They have confirmation from your boss that you did work for them. That should be enough. But again, I am not the case officer!
