THE Victorian government has more than doubled the number of high-risk training colleges it is auditing as it seeks to clamp down on shonky providers exploiting international students and immigration laws.
The move to expand the audit from 17 colleges to 41 highlights the potential extent of malpractice in the private training sector.
All 41 targeted colleges are private providers.

The authorities are waiting for the ESOS Bill to be passed.

ESOS BILL

The latest ESOS Bill has passed through the lower house. 16 th Sept 09 is the last date for making submission on the ESOS Bill

I anticipate 5000 students are likely to be displaced.

Once the new bill comes into force there will be more closures.

The bill has been “well” drafted giving two “protective fences” i.e. State Regulatory authorities & DEEWR”.

However there will face some serious legal issues from those who are refused registration. I anticipate arguable grounds for a “dodgy provider” to obtain a stay order in case a refusal is received.
