Hi Susan,
My partner is looking for a Hairdressing couse. How could we figure out if the actual course is eligible to apply for prmanent residency?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Regards,
Karoly

Hi Karoly
Current requirements for a course to satisfy the requirements of Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), the migration skills assessing body for hairdressers, are that it must be a full-time, CRICOS registered course.
Here is a link to 200 hairdressing training providers listed on CRICOS' website:
http://cricos.deewr.gov.au/Course/CourseSearch.aspx
To be on the safe side, I suggest that you check with CRICOS and TRA that the course your partner selects will comply with TRA guidelines, before you invest any money or time in it.
Also, for your information, here is a link to DIAC's web page about skilled migration visa options for people who have completed a course in Australia.
The criteria for the course etc. and other eligibility requirements are detailed in the link:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/visa-options-inside.htm
I hope the above information is helpful.
Best wishes
Susan
